Hello I’m Catherine Rogers and I am the owner of HomeGleamers,
The Story
My husband Graham Rogers started providing a cleaning service for clients in Bristol in 2002. He was a freelance computer consultant but had problems finding work when there was a recession in the IT Industry in 2002.
After nearly a year of not working he bought a franchise and became a franchisee of Time For You Domestic Cleaning. The franchise area was the whole of TA and BS postcodes. The business grew quickly and a year later he decided to start an oven cleaning business to run along side the cleaning business. This business is called OvenGleamers.
I joined the business in 2004 on a part-time basis. I started helping out whilst I carried out my real job as a Royal Air Force C130 Navigator. I spent 17 years in the Royal Air Force and flew all around the world.
The business has grown in leaps and bounds over the years and meant that we needed help too – so we recruited our first Client Co-Ordinator Jayne Hardy in 2006 to take control of the day-to day managing of the cleaning services. We were running the business from our flat in Clevedon North Somerset then.
I came into the business on a full-time basis when I left the Royal Air Force in January 2007.
In 2007 just before my son was born we opened a proper office, in a former bicycle shop, in Pill North Somerset to run both of our businesses from.
In 2012 we left the Time For You franchise by buying ourselves out of our franchise contract. We continued with the same staff and office with our new name of Home Cleaners Bristol.
In 2013 we moved offices to across the road into a bigger double sized office in the shopping Precinct in Pill.
In 2014 We changed the name of the business to our trade marked name of HomeGleamers® to match our oven cleaning business OvenGleamers.
2020 Changes:
In March 2020 Jayne Hardy left the business so she could go into semi-retirement.
We carried on with our OvenGleamers team during the rest of 2020 and decided to recruit someone to concentrate on the day to day running of the business.
Nikk Rickford joined us in late October as our Client Co-Ordinator. She left in May 2021 after being offered a job she couldn't refuse back with her former employer Lidl as a surveyor.
2021 Changes:
Edward Farrow
Edward Farrow joined us in May of 2021 to be the Client Co-Ordinator of HomeGleamers. Edward is your point of contact if you are looking for information from HomeGleamers and to have one of our cleaners.
He served 12 years in the Avon and Somerset Police and worked in Bristol and Bridgwater.
He left to go back to using his electrician trade gained before he joined the force. Before joining us he had worked for a local appliance repair company.
